Romantic Peak District

In case you'd forgotten, it's Valentine's Day tomorrow! What better place to plan a romance-filled day than the heart of the Peak District. There are stunning views and plenty of places to visit with your Valentine. We've put together a few suggestions for those of you still making last-minute plans...

Spa Day

Treat your other half to a peaceful, relaxing day where you can forget about the day-to-day worries and focus on each other. At Losehill House we offer a number of full and half day spa packages to choose from, all include use of our pool, sauna, steam room and terrace hot tub while others include spa treatments and a meal in our award-winning Orangery Restaurant.

Walk Hand in Hand

One of the easiest and cheapest things that you can do in the Peak District is to put on your walking boots and go for a stroll together. Visit Peak District has some great suggested routes which you can take, depending on where you want to start from. How about the Shivering Mountain walking route, starting from Castleton? Increase the romance by taking along a picnic hamper filled with your partner's favourite foods. Just be sure to wrap up warm!

Tea for Two

Enjoy a delicious afternoon tea for two in our Orangery Restaurant, with spectacular panoramic views of the Hope Valley. Ours is a traditional afternoon tea selection of finger sandwiches, served on white and brown bread, to include smoked salmon, Bennets' Hope Valley free range egg with mayonnaise, cucumber and Peak District ham and mustard. The tea also includes warm, freshly baked scones with whipped cream and strawberry jam, and a selection of seasonal home-made cakes. Add Champagne for extra sparkle!

Country Garden

On this list, we couldn't leave out a visit to one of the Peak District's gardens. Perhaps the most spectacular of which belongs to Chatsworth House. However, this experience may be best saved for another day as the gardens and house are closed for the winter and will reopen on 28th March.

Time for Tea

We're delighted to announce that we have expanded our cream tea to a full Afternoon Tea offering. Our Afternoon Tea selection now includes:

A traditional afternoon tea selection of finger sandwiches, served on white and brown bread, to include smoked salmon, Bennets' Hope Valley free range egg with mayonnaise, cucumber and Peak District ham and mustard.

Warm, freshly baked scones with whipped cream and strawberry jam.

A selection of seasonal home-made cakes.
