Just 10-minutes away from our hotel, you’ll find a spine-chilling Halloween cinema experience at the Peak Cavern in Hope Valley (affectionately known as the Devil’s Arse). The Village Screen pop-up cinema is bringing the spook-factor this year with some cult classic Halloween and horror films - a nice variety for all ages. 

From The Crow to Hocus Pocus, enjoy screenings paired with delicious street food, live music, and spooky décor. It’s the perfect blend of cinematic magic and Halloween fun in a truly haunting setting!


Fright Fiesta at Gulliver’s Kingdom

Located just under an hour from Losehill, this theme park offers a lively festival style atmosphere that is perfect for a day jam-packed with Halloween family fun. Show off your best Halloween frock at the street parade, explore the Creepy Cave, brave the haunted house, or seek some thrills on their fantastic rides. 


Half-term Halloween fun at Chatsworth's Farmyard

In Bakewell, around an hour away from us, you’ll find some quality Halloween themed activities at Chatsworth's Farmyard, ideal for keeping the little ones entertained (and festive) during the half-term break.

Get up close with some animals in the farmyard, create some spooky Halloween crafts, and  choose and carve your very own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch! And if you’re feeling brave why not take a chilling ride through the grounds on their tractor and trailer. 


Visit a Haunted Ground in the Peaks

Peveril Castle

Distance from Losehill House Hotel: 10 minutes

Perched atop the hill above Castleton are the imposing ruins of Peveril Castle, constructed in 1176 with centuries . A white knight who stands by the rampart is said to haunt the castle, as well as a ghostly horse and hound have been seen by others close to the keep.


Edale

Distance from Losehill House Hotel: 12 minutes

When an RAF bomber crashed near Edale during the Second World War, the bodies of the crew were carried down to the Old Nag’s Head pub, around 10 minutes away from us. It is said that customers have seen ghostly figures of airmen in uniforms, and their spirits are said to remain there to this day…

Ladybower Reservoir

Distance from Losehill House Hotel: 15 minutes


In the skies above Derbyshire, people have reported seeing ghostly aircraft on multiple occasions. Many people have reported seeing a plane that they believe to be a Lancaster Bomber close to Ladybower Reservoir, which is where the practice runs for the Dambuster runs were conducted.

Kinder Scout

Distance from Losehill House Hotel: 30 minutes

To see the fabled mermaid in the bottomless Mermaid's Pool, ascend Kinder Scout, the highest point in the Peak District. Reportedly, she rises on Easter eve either to bestow upon guests the gift of long life or to entice her devotees to meet their demise -  pretty spooky, right?
